AT INDIGO PHARMACY

We are dedicated to providing optimal patient care with a focus on collaboration and communication with our patients and their prescribers. Our pharmacies are physically and electronically integrated with physician clinics and are part of our physician’s multi-disciplinary care team. We work hard to be informed about the health and needs of our patients.

Prescriptions

Our full-service pharmacies are ready to help with medication dispensing and management. We also appreciate that specialty medication costs can be high and the billing process can be complicated. Our staff can assist patients in coordinating between their provincial and or private insurance plan benefits. New or existing patients can request prescription renewals or transfers online.

Prescription Refills

We would be happy to prepare a refill of a medication previously filled at one of our pharmacies.  Please provide the necessary information below:

Prescription Transfers

We would be happy to call another pharmacy and have renewals of your prescription transferred to our pharmacy to fill for you. Please note that not all prescriptions are eligible for transfer. Please provide the necessary information below:

Medication Review

The health care system in British Columbia often puts patients in the care of multiple prescribers at the same time. Our pharmacists will review your entire medication picture and provide recommendations and answer questions. Please contact us to book an appointment for a customized medication consultation.

CLINICAL SERVICES

Hepatitis C

Therapy for Hepatitis C has evolved tremendously in the past decade and current therapies are much more effective and tolerable than those in the past. However, these medications are also very expensive and there are many things that get in the way of accessing them. We have a lot of experience helping patients access these drugs.

Toxin Therapy

Botulinum toxin injection therapy (also known as “BOTOX therapy” or onabotulinumtoxinA) is used to treat a variety of conditions including migraines, muscle spasticity, hyperhidrosis, dystonia and bruxism as well as for cosmetic purposes.  Our pharmacy staff will work with prescribers, PharmaCare and insurance providers to coordinate benefits to make access to this therapy as smooth as possible.

Diabetes Support

Our certified diabetes educator pharmacist works together with your physician to help you control your blood sugars. Ongoing follow-up is provided to ensure your medications are helping you meet targets and reduce your risk of diabetic complications. Consultations are also available to advise on nutrition, self-glucose monitoring, and foot care. Please call to book an appointment.

HIV Medication Management

We are a partner with the Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS at St. Paul’s Hospital to make it easier for patients to get their medications near their homes.

Nephrology Support

Our pharmacists have a particular interest in managing medications for patients with kidney dysfunction. We work closely with our integrated nephrologists and physicians to ensure the safety and efficacy of medications for patients with any stage of renal failure.

Rheumatology

The field of rheumatology involves a wide variety of medications that help modify how your immune system functions to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.  Our pharmacists work closely with rheumatologists and have the knowledge necessary to answer your questions and help you access your drug coverage.

Neurology

Diseases of the nervous system can cause all types of symptoms including pain and disability which can often be improved with medication.  Our team has a lot of training in this area and includes specialist pharmacists with extensive experience in neuropathic pain treatment.
